Civil Society Now is an initiative of People in Need (PIN). It gathers the in-house technical, organisational and project cycle management expertise of PIN’s Relief and Development Department into a resource center and package of services that contribute to CSO-led capacity strengthening.
CSN builds on PIN’s lessons learnt story and growth from a small civil society organisation to a well-recognised INGO to guide CSN members. PIN staff offer their practical experience of running an aid organisation, providing members with technical advice and editable templates for core policies and procedures in English and in four local languages (as of April 2025).
CSN creates opportunities for horizontal capacity strengthening through online and in-person events, connecting CSN members with other practitioners, encouraging peer-to-peer learning, and networking with donors. CSN purposefully integrates with the existing country-level initiatives and networks aimed at strengthening civil society.
In April 2025, CSN has over 120 members in selected PIN RDD countries, including in Nepal, Mongolia and Ukraine. Membership to CSN is by invitation at this time.
